Twitter turns 10!

Twitter celebrated its 10th birthday last month, a fact that many might find it hard to believe given the profound impact it has had on the way we communicate and share information digitally.
Dubbed the "SMS of the Internet", Twitter has become the de facto broadcast network of the world. In just 10 years it has grown to a staggering 1.3 billion registered users, with an estimated 500 million tweets being sent everyday.
To celebrate the occasion Twitter has produced a great video highlighting the way some of the biggest news events in recent history have broken on Twitter first – from the excitement of the Royal Wedding to the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombing.
